About the Art

The artist was deeply moved by the lyrics of Amir Eid from the song Raji'een, a powerful collaboration featuring multiple singers. Those words carried a resonance that lingered, and from that emotion, this artwork was created. Raji'een (راجعين) means We are returning. The word carries layers of meaning: return to homeland, return to dignity, return to belonging. In the context of the song, it reflects the belief that separation is not permanent and that identity cannot be erased by borders drawn in ink. The keffiyeh border was hand-painted first, grounding the piece in Palestinian heritage and memory. Together, the symbolism and the words form a quiet but powerful promise; that return lives in the spirit long before it becomes physical.
